In the industrial field, the manufacturing of products in production chains involves more and more recourse to de-localised entities throughout the world, either within the same group or using pyramids of sub-contractors. Manufacturing is subjected to numerous sets of regulations, either national or supra-national and this requires the collection, historical recording and validation of information from all stages in this widespread production chain (Supply Chain Communication). This applies to all regulations relating to risks (fire, explosion, contamination) incurred by the personnel of these companies, their clients using the products and their environment.

- RID and ADR (European regulations covering the rail and the road transport of dangerous substances)
