The exposure scenario

The REACh regulations require the preparation of scenarios relating to exposure to chemical substances. In simple terms, an estimate must be made in both quantitative and qualitative terms of the dosage or concentration of the substance to which both humans and the environment may be exposed. This is reasoned risk management.

The elements constituting the exposure scenario include the risks in manufacturing, transforming and using the substance, the activities of workers and the length of time of their exposure; the activities of consumers, the frequency of emissions to the environment and the dilution factors, the measures for the reduction or elimination of risk to humans and measures taken by management for risk reduction during the recycling or elimination of waste.

The GRC Suite provides a toolset for the production and tracking of exposure scenarios. Its powerful tools automate all the tasks required for the collection of information, the exchange of quantitative and qualitative data and their communication with flawless traceability.
